Turn graphics and 3D models into optimised NC programs for your CNC art projects.

Features

Job-Strategies
The picture shows a curved wood artwork with tool paths of 5 different machining strategies.
All job strategies of VxCraft generate optimized tool paths in the shortest possible time and collision-checked.
Roughing
3D model of a triskele with complex tool paths for roughing.
The ramped plunging movements protect the material, and spiral infeeds adapted to the contour reduce rapid traverse movements to a minimum.
Roughing Microstep
3D model of a pyramid with complex tool paths for roughing with Microsteps.
Switchable micro-steps allow the model to be machined in great detail even during roughing, for close contour, economical roughing.
Contour
3D model of a triskele with tool paths for contour milling.
Perfect for simple "outlining" or cutting out operations, this strategy is also excellent for finishing steep and vertical areas of complex 3D geometries.
3xShape
3D model of a triskele with toolpaths of the 3xShape strategy for 3-axis simultaneous machining.
This 3-axis simultaneous machining process finishes complex 3D geometries spirally up to a certain inclination, with just a few rapid traverse movements.
Contour and 3xShape
3D model of a triskele with toolpaths from combined milling strategies.
"Contour" and "3xShape" can be used together to finish 3D shapes completely.
Engrave
3D model of the lettering 'Hello Wood' with tool paths for engraving.
Raised or lowered, with fine or wide details, the automatic depth adjustment of the Engraving job strategy adapts the paths perfectly to the conditions and reduces rapid traverse movements to a minimum. Switchable reaming planes for deep machining protect the tool.
Drill
3D model of a block with numerous drill holes and tool paths for drilling.
VxCraft automatically calculates the centre points of the selected points and transfers them to the drill list. Alternatively, the drill positions can be referenced from another job. The start and end positions can be automatically calculated from the model and the feedstock.

Tools

Create your actual used tool from predefined tool types or a completely free definable geometry via a tool script.

Thanks to storable templates your tools can be reused.

The figure shows a number of different tool types as 3D models.

3D-Objects

VxCraft lets you load your graphics and convert them into 3D objects. Or load 3D STL models directly.

Even ultra-high resolution 3D models with gaps or open geometry, such as from 3D scans, can be used.

The illustration shows the transformation of a graphic into a 3D model (heightmap).

Multi-sided machining

For all CNC professionals: Place objects in all degrees of freedom and mill your CNC scene from any direction.

NC scene from different perspectives shows a deer as a 3D model and toolpaths applied to it from different directions.

Collision Check and Solid Live Simulation

The collision check during the calculation ensures maximum safety.

Visualise the material removal in the powerful simulation before it goes to the milling machine.

The animation shows a virtual material removal and stops when the tool shank collides with the workpiece, highlighting the point of contact.

Zone Limitation
The figure shows two identical models. In the left model, the toolpaths are only visible inside the model surface. In the right model, the toolpaths are only outside the model geometry.
Limits the path calculation to the inner or outer area of the model.
3D Radius Correction
The illustration shows two identical models with different tool paths and milling tools positioned on them. In the left-hand model, the cutting edge of the tool is in contact with the model, while in the right-hand model the tool penetrates the model geometry up to the radius.
Can be used with any tool geometry and machining strategy, ensuring the model is milled true to geometry.
Geometry Allowance
The figure shows toolpaths that have a clear distance to the model geometry.
With a positive or negative geometry allowance, the model can be optimally pre- or post-machined.
Plunging
Three illustrations: 1.toolpath with spiral-shaped plunge ramp; 2.toolpath plunges ramp-like; 3.toolpath plunges laterally outside the workpiece.
Switchable ramp-shaped plunging movements protect the tool and the machine.
Tool Path Optimisation
The illustration shows toolpaths with a staircase-shaped pattern and approximated rounded toolpaths above.
Various path optimisations round off the toolpaths in three dimensions with minimal tolerance deviation for smooth and gentle movements.
Postprocessing
The illustration shows a section of the Lua script code of a VxCraft postprocessor.
The Lua scripting language can be used to create or adapt custom post-processors for all CNC machines. Alternatively, free post processors are available in the download area.
User interface
Screenshot of the VxCraft user interface.
The simple and intuitive user interface makes it possible to get started quickly and work efficiently.
Tooltips
Detail of a screenshot showing a baloon tip
Seamlessly integrated tooltips instantly provide a brief description of the function or parameter.
Infobuttons
The illustration shows an info button that leads to a manual section.
All sections have well-placed info buttons. These take you directly to the relevant chapter in the manual for a detailed description.
Integrated figures
The animation shows various graphical animations that are integrated into the VxCraft user interface.
Built-in dynamic and animated graphics show how the current selection works.
